How can I repair or fill in a knife scratch on a on light wood effect kitchen work surface.

I hope you mean a kitchen work top and not a wardrobe(I will call the police to see that your partner is ok)you can buy a filler at any large DIY store to disguise the scratch just follow the instructions,you wont notice it after a day or two.
