Scantronic 9651?

We recently moved into a property that had the scantronic 9651 installed,
we didnt have the code and nor did the landlady, she tried the usual 1234 but ended up triggering the alarm.
the handy man turned up with a manual that had one code on to deactivate it which worked,
but it doesnt work to set it

since the alarm was triggered it now says reset required zone 4 (which would be the kitchen)
The kitchen is a sensor light thing and looks to be functioning fine (light coming on and off)

i dont have any other codes than 2946 and havent a clue how to reset it or program it to a new number

any ideas one how to reset it and make it usuable would be greatly appreciated

Who is this SD who seems to keep popping up and giving miss-information, again?

'0' in front of a code into a Scantronic panel is to let the panel know that the following numbers are the engineer code. Nothing to do with a reset.

Suggest SD gets his act together as he has been told by others in the past.

well i tried the 0 then the code too
it only lets you put 4 digits in so it classed 0 as part of it?

i also rang the alarm company and spoke to an engineer, he said the code i have should just reset the system, but since it doesnt they'll have to look at it in new year (or pay 75 +vat for a call out---ouch)

if the panel has been programmed for engineer reset only,you will not be able to reset with your code.it needs the engineering code to reset it,and if you dont have that,then you need engineer who can re-boot the panel to factory settings,

hiya,

the engineer code didnt work,
i found it odd that the code to turn it off wouldnt set it but ive tried numerous times but it wont do much as it wants resetting.
i'll try the 0 thing in the morning, (dont fancy upsetting the neighbours at this time of night)

try keying the code again,if it turns it off,it should turn it on,unless.its been programmed engineer reset only,then you would need the engineering code,if your number not work,try key in 07890,if engineering code not been changed,it should say installer mode,if it does,key in 99 then press enter,( the tick) it will ask if you want to leave engineering,press the tick again,it will now say checking system,then it will be reset.

It will not set if an alarm is active, some scantronic seem to use '0' as reset, so enter code then '0' might have reset under it. or if seperate reset press that, until system is reset, it will not set.
