vw sharan 1.9tdi auto gearbox ?

Hi I have a vw sharonautogearbox 2006 . When you put it into drive or reverse there is no movement. The oil has been changed. The specelist think its a electrical ecu problom. What do others think?

I have a VW Sharan 1.9 tdi 1999 had from new been wonderful car but just lately playing up I sometimes find it won't go in to reverse then when it does go in to reverse gear clunks loudly.

Hi. I have vw sharan 1.9 tdi auto 2001 when it comes to shift the gears it shifts it hard and I don't know what could be the problem. I found a oil inlet but their is no deep stick ! How can I check the oil level please guys???!!!

Had the valve box refurbished - new valves and solenoids cost £600 but car is fine now.

I have the same problem with my2006 sharan auto 1.9 diesel. It stays in 1st gear until the engine warms up, if I start up when cold and run the engine for 10 mins it runs ok. The dashboard display says 'EMISSION WORKSHOP' .However, the fault improved for a few weeks after a gear oil change but returned in the recent cold weather, which makes me think it is a sticking solenoid. The diagnostics give the fault as 00652 GEAR SHIFT CONTROLLER which could be the control unit next to the battery. The car is going in next week for further investigation.

If it picks up first and reverse without any slip then it is unlikely to be an oil issue as in the other post. The chances are the solenoid that switches in second is not working properly mechanically. When it warms up it frees up. To verify scan computer for live data to see if a shift is asked for. If so and no shift then its probably the solenoid.

auto gearbox oil issue.it expands as it warms which makes it work.Parking on hills or steep inclines can give the same issue.
