How do I stop my pilot being extinguished when the main burner ignites?
Baxi 701 RS
The pilot lights fine and the thermocouple glows nice and red hot. At times, when the main burner ignites it is possible to see the pilot flame being blown to one side and the thermocouple cools down causing annoying shut down.
The gas valve and thermoucouple have recently been replaced.
You will probably find the boiler has a vitiation sensing device and the pilot is going out due to lack of oxygen. The only advice anyone should offer is to get a gas safe registered engineer to check the boiler. It is illegal for anyone who is not gas safe registered to work on gas appliances.
