Mend Sony KDF-E50A12U Green Red Flashing

My Sony KDF-E50A12U shuts down on its own?

After about 3 years my set shuts its self down and displays a green to red intermittent flashing light. after about 10 to15 mins I can turn back on and watch TV again. I have now idea why this happens can any one advise of what it might be????????
