DLP Toshiba 72HM195 Help! flickering, color problems?

Hi everyone, I hope someone sees this thread. These are the problems: major flickering, vertical lines all the way up the screen that are made up of these tiny boxes. Green color moving up the screen from the bottom kind of like a histogram. And then red flaring from faces and red around the eyes, nose and mouth. But I think I only saw that when I was sitting at an angle. But for sure you can see the red flaring out to the right of peoples faces. The sound is fine, no flashing lights on the front of the tv as described on toshiba manual.
Any suggestions? How much to fix? Repairman says the flickering probably the color wheel. I don't think so but what do I know. The lines could be the light engine. IS it true that the color wheel and the light engine is on the same board? We replaced the bulb in June of '09. Repairman quoted us 1,270.00. We want to see if we can buy the part from Toshiba and fix it ourselves. Is it possible? Thank you for any input.

I am having the same issues, all of the above, and someone has said that perhaps there should be a class action law suite. I would tend to agree! What would it take? If someone knows and/or would like to try getting something going I think we have a pretty good case! email sethjensen_667 at yahoo.com if you'd like to discuss.

Hi Maria-We've owned this TV since Dec 2005 and had too many problems almost like yours. We paid for a 4 yr repair contract and I'm glad we did. We had a split screen where only one side of the screen had a pic and the other black. We've had a blue screen with hot pink ghost pictures rolling from right to left. We've had the entire Light engine replaced and yes it includes the color wheel. That cost covered under the Repair contract was almost $1000 not including labor. We've also had the lamp replaced ($400 more under contract) and a firmware update (not sure of the cost to them). We only watch this set about 6 hrs week. Just turned it on today and we got several pops, sizzles and now Im looking at a blue screen. Have 1 month left on the repair contract but I think all we have is a $5000 paperweight. We'll see if the company we bought it from honors the contract under the Calif. Lemon Law. Wish you luck but am afraid you've bought yourselves a not so reliable product.
