Fuel running out of nipple on top of carb on a 19.5 Briggs & Stratton?
On top of the carb. There is the fuel line, Right next to it there's another nipple. Fuel is running out, should there be a hose on it or is it something else. It was running fine minutes before I took an break. Thanks Ron
Hi Rick
That worked like a charm and the mower is running great.
Thanks again for all your time. Ron

OK that's a Vangaurd engine. The open inlet is kind of an overflow. The inlet needle is not shutting off the fuel flow to the carb. On the bottom of the carb there is a float bowl. The float in that bowl is what raises the inlet needle to shut off the fuel flow to keep a constant level for the carb to draw from. It may just be stuck. Try tapping the float bowl lightly with a screwdriver handle. Or it may be blocked open with dirt. In that case the carb will need to be opened up and cleaned out, or rebuilt.

There are two nipples one has a hose on it that goes to the fuel pump. The other nipple is naked and fuel is running out of it. What I need to know. Should there be a hose on that leaking nipple ? If it does, where does the other end of the hose go ? This is my Mom's mowers. Thanks
