How to time a bernette 55?

My machine is only 3 years old, but sounds ancient. It has a loud squeaking noise, even after oiling it. I've been told it may have a timing issue. Would you know how to fix it??

Hello Andrea,
It will only need retiming if the machine is either missing stitches or not picking up the stitches, you need to find the noise before any permanent damage sets in, check the motor belts, try and locate the noise.
