peugeot speedfight 2 problems?

i got a peugeot speedfight 2 air cooled its a 57reg, had a new piston and barrel fitted but now i cant get above about 30 mph compared to my normal speed of 50mph on a straight and i cant get more than 15 mph up a hill. i have tried 3 sets of rollers (4.5, 6.5 and 8) but still no joy its not making any difference to either the speed or accelaration. at the same time as the barrel was changed i had a new doppler performance exhaust fitted. anyone wiv an idea it would be appreciated

can anyone help i have a peugeot speedfight 2 and it doesnt wanna start i changed the brake levers and now its doesnt wanna start i have put in a new spark plug and a ht cap and still nothing

what is the small rubber pipe for on my exhaust that leads to the engine because on my old exhaust it connected to it but on my new performance exhaust it dosent and i have left it not connected to anthing, and now my ped olny does twenty two it usally does fifty

You need to run the new piston in first! never try to hit your top speed with new piston!. you must first cover like 500 miles by going 30mph lol. as your piston wear its self in, you bike will gain speed.

my peugeot speedfight 2 on an 02 reg 50cc when i set off it goes ok but when i get to eny sort of hill small or big it will not pull eny answer thanks

put old exhaust back on then try ive got a speedfight 2 that will only do 30 with proeformance exhaust but does 50+ with standard exhaust also make sure you run the new piston and rings in

does it pull away slowly?the pipe may have caused the carb to need upjetting due to the free flowing gases.take the main jet up to about 70-75 if its pulling away slowly and also has it got a set of light weight variator rollers in it?they want to be about 4-4.5 gram

check main jet size. standard size is 72 for all peugeot 50cc scooters. some restricted peugeots come with only 52 or similar. so check your main jet.

I would speak to people to got your pipe off. Or speak to a friendly shop who sells them. I would also say you will need to increase main jet, sorry not sure of size. Did you put a new air filter on at the same time or is it standard?

thanx for all the response guys i have already removed the bolted casing and changed the washer previous to getting the barrel changed i havent changed the jet ? how big a jet would you recommend putting in? and i dont have any of the parts to put the bike bak to standard to re-run the bike in. i have also been told it may be to do with the clutch and i may need new clutch springs any input on that guys?

run it all back in with restrictors and original exhaust on then after bout 800miles fit the doppler exhaust with the 4.5s and remove the restrictors again and it should be fine

did you change your main jet? Often you need to do this in with a new pipe

and remove any thick washer that may be behind it replace for normal thin one same diamiter

take the bolted on caseing of the variator were the rollers are the put it back on without it and fit ur lightest rollers try then
