hi brammo i think the trouble might be in the external bell box unless you have had some work done inside the house that could have damaged a wire to a tamper zone
to try and isolate the fault you can open the control panel up but be carefull around the mains electric it can kill
and find the TAMP zones their is one on the keypad wireing and one on the bottom of the board next to the PA, and also one on the bell box MARKED TA, you can put a small link wire in each one of them to see if it cures the problem,if they already have a link wire in then that will not be at fault try the others but do one at a time so you will know where the problem is but leave the existing wires in just put the link in as well a small peice of tellephone wire is good enough it is rigid enough to work with once you have identified the fault you will have to check the wireing and also the bell box tamper springs on the cover also the tamper switch on the control panel cover good luck bazzz
