Mend Hotpoint AQXF129 Washing Stuck Wash

program stuck on wash on hotpoint aqualtis aqxxf129?

The machine sticks on wash whenever i use a white wash program, all the others work perfectly, can anyone help? I have been turning the machine off then selecting rinse and this finishes the cycle, I thought it was an automatic machine!!!!!!
