Mend Magic Chef Short Power Cord

How can I fix my Magic Chef Refrigerator?

I have a Magic Chef refrigerator that we thought we had a short in the power cord....sometimes it would quit and then we would wiggle the cord and it would work. then we had a storm and the power went out 4 times in one day. My husband opened the frig door and it was like lightening struck inside the frig and it quit. Is there any way to repair this? Please help.

You re not very specific on what your problem really is, you say that when your husband opened the fridge door it looked like lightening had struck inside can you be more specific i.e. what was the damage to the fridge inside? If it was lightening damage this would be covered by your household insurance. More details please
