Mend Hotpoint CDT00 Condenser Dryer Tumble Not Working

what could be the promblem?

i have a hotpoint condenser dryer model cdt00
the light to empty water has come on as normal but after emptying light stays on and dryer wont work just getting a strange humming sound when i press start which fades out after a few seconds
