empty water light on hotpoint tumble dryer?

the empty water light is on and tumble dryer will not work even though filters and pipes are clear and no water in box

its quite possible that your microswitch for the door is faulty or needs adjusting on most models the light comes on at the end of each cycle the fact that its not doing anything indicates that it does not think the door is closed, i had the same problem with one i was working on a few months back
