rover 200?

what can cause the holes where the spark plugs and ht leads fit to fill up with oil and would this stop the engine working.?

leaking gasket between cam cover & cam carrier(16 valve engine). wouldn't normally cause engine to stop working, but may cause misfiring due to plugs & ht leads being soaked in oil. depends on how bad it is.
