Mend Ford Spark Coil Distributor No

mark 4 series 2 escort rs turbo no spark from coil to distributor?

hi there i have a 1988 series 2 escort rs turbo i was driving down the road yesterday and the car just suddenly cut out and wouldnt start there is no spark coming from the coil to the distributor but there is power to the coil i have changed the distributor coil and ht leads but still no spark does anybody know what this could be ?? thanks

check if your getting power to the coil,if you are,check the earth strap to the engine is in good condition, how do you know there is no spark from the coil?did you pull the centre lead off the distributor and hold it near the engine block as you got some one to turn over the engine?

I think you should be concentrating on the right hand side of the second diagram - Capacitor - Circuit Breaker - 2x Earth connections.
