vauxhall combi van R reg diesal?

van starts but will only run for 30 seconds then cuts out, will start again but only run for 30 seconds again I have been told it could be the transponder in the key any ideas

Sounds like its sucking air into fuel system. The rubber o ring/seal is the usual culprit on the diesel filter housing. If it were a transponder fault, dont think it would run at all?
