wm52 first edition 1000?

washing mashine makes a loud grinding noise whilst empting,but ok on spin modes,any ideas would be greatfully recieved.

Sounds like something has made it through the filter and into the impeller blades of the pump. try removing the sump pipe from the drum and pump and take a look.
