Mend Hoover Performa 1200 Bearing Drum Grinding Noise

hoover performa 1200 loud grinding noise?

my washing machine was making a very loud grinding noise at the end of the cycle, turned it off. Seems to be excessive movement in the drum but will take a look tomorrow. When turned on at slow spin drum seems to rotate off centre, possibly spindle, bearing, drum??

Place your hand inside of the drum at the top and push the drum upwards, if the drum lifts up your bearing are SHOT and need replacing. The repair may also need a spider assembly (you cannot tell this till machine is stripped down and shaft exposed) so budget for this also in the repair cost,and labour charges.
