Kenmore sewing machine stuck in reverse?

Kenmore Model 385.16524000 has button you press to reverse stitch. Button moves freely, but machine still in reverse. How do I remedy this?

You need to get inside the machine and spray some WD40 on the mechanism, if that does not free it off it will mean a shop adjustment.
