Mend Pfaff 145 Sewing Machine Needle Thread

info on pfaff 145 sewing machine?

I would like to know how to insert needle into machine,it does not have a flat to locate in the needle post. also at top of needle mount there is a part with a slot in it,?does the thread go through it. Also what is the largest thread that I can use in it.

I don't know if you have received an answer to your question, so here the answers to both questions.

The needle has a vertical groove that goes to teh left side of the machine. The thread will go through from the groove side, or left to right.

Depending on the needle size, you will typcially use V69, V92 or V138 thread. The larger the thread the larger the needle. 140 needles will work fine with V69 sewing fabric. You can go up to 150 needles for sewing vinyl and for V92 or V138 thread.

If I remember correctly, the H3 version takes a 134/35 system neeedle and the H4 version (higher lift) takes a 190R needle.

Hello Mike,
I can't remember that model and I can't find any reference to it, if you can send a picture it would help, if the machine uses a round needle it is either incredibly old or it is an industrial, if you email type my address as you say it not as you read it, this site no longer allows email addresses to be shown.
