Mend Singer futura 250 Needle Broke

how to fix my Singer futura 250?

I was doing some embroidery when the needle broke,I replaced it, but the needle broke again straight away,so I replaced needle again,rethreaded it but then it would not pick up the bobbin thread, also now when I turn the balance wheel it goes stiff then ok then stiff then ok,
Hope someone can help me

Hello Mary,
You need to take the bottom of the machine and check to make sure the gear under the raceway has not broken away.
