Singer Model 416, Can anyone out there help me to fix this?

To JOHAN....Thankyou for replying to my problem with the Singer Model 416. You gave easy instruction to fix the problem. I fought with it for a long time before u helped me out and i fixed it in less than a minute after u replied with the solution!!!!!!!!!!!! Its nice to know this site works and there are people out there that actually help others . I have another question with this machine and will be posting it on the site soon,hope u see it and can help once more. SHIRLEY

Take out the small screw in the stop motion wheel, unscrew the stop motion wheel all the way off, put the 3 pronged washer in a different position, screw the stop motion wheel back on finger tight, put the screw back in the stop motion wheel and see if the stop motion wheel tightens as you turn it, if it does not put the washer in a different position and try again, have you retimed the machine since fitting the top gear ? if not type my email address as you say it not as you see it and I will attach instructions if you email me.

the triangular shape plate between inner and outer wheel is wrongly fitted the high area should be against inside or small wheel with other words towards outside.try this first. hope it help
