Mend Siemens HB90355GB/05 Double Oven Model

How can I replace the element on my Siemens HB 903 double oven?

The model no of the oven is: HB 903 55 GB / 05

I have bought a new element and it should be very easy to replace. The problem is that one of the screws that holds the element in place is behind the fan itself.

This leads me to think that I need to remove the fan to replace the element - but I can't get the fan off! Before I go any further (apply more force...) I want to make sure I am doing the right thing. Am hoping someone out there knows if there is a trick to this one. And if there isn't an alternative way, how do you get the fan off easily?

it's very straightforward - just undo the 3 screws that secure the fan assembly which will allow you to achieve some free-play in the fan hub. Once pushed down, you can gain access to the 3rd (tricky) screw that holds the top part of the element to the oven backing - simples....

I realise this is too late for Richard, but we have had to replace the fan element on our Siemens HB 903 oven four or five times over the last eight years - at an average cost of over £100 !! Customer liaison for Siemens/BSH Appliances were simply not interested once the guarantee period was up. The last time the fan element blew (this week), the repair man couldn't undo one of the screws, but he was still able to replace the element by moving the oven out into the room and doing it from the back. It cost me £167 this time (£68 for the part and £100 for the labour).

The repair man saids don't ever use WD-40 - as it takes ages to get rid of the smell!

Needless to say, I won't be buying a Siemens oven ever again.
