Mend Technics SL-DV250 Plug Power Standby

Technics SL-DV250 will not turn on what to do?

I have a Technics SL-DV250 home theater system and when i plug the power lead in the red standby light comes on yet nothing happens apart from a clicking button sound sound and it trips, yet when i unplug the stereo sound processer nothing happens at all not even the clicking sound or tripping.
