My TV will not come off of standby?? How do I fix this?

Hi, my Humax flat screen TV wont come off of standby....Usually there is a blue light in the bottom right hand side which goes off once I've pushed the power button and the TV comes on - but now I turn on the power and it just flashes for ages and then the light remains on and the TV just wont turn on....I've left it for a few days but now have tried chnaging the plug socket, i've tried turning it on and off at the plug and have tried the standby button on the remote controls and also on the television itself. Please help me. I really dont want it to be dead! Thank you
