How can I fix my Canon Digital Camcorder?

My Canon MV650i just displays a blank screen when we try and record anything. The machine plays back any previously recorded film with no problems but we can't get a picture when trying to record new stuff. Can anyone help? This problem has seemed to come from nowhere as the last time we used the machine all was ok and the machine has sat on a shelf untouched until we went to use it again.

Send it to a Plymcare (a Canon service centre) who will repair it for free !! It is a known problem and they are repairing it without admitting liability.
