the timer can develop a short circuit that blows the fuse
the timer can be the first thing to fail (after the pressure switch that is)
before brushes wear out or heater element goes
remove lid 2 screws at rear
remove front panel
one screw hidden away on back of panel… 2 screws on front (1 behind detergent drawer so remove drawer first and clean)
lever off front panel (it will be left hanging on indicator light cable)
remove center cap from program knob
undo small nut on timer shaft
pull off knob
slide off all electrical connections
remove 2 screws from timer
replace with new timer costing about £100
