hotpoint aquarius 1200 (DE LUXE WM31) won't drain, please help?

hi, my (above) washing machine won't drain and at times would spin very vigorously and water would come out from the compartment where you put washing powder. there is also a slight burning smell from the machine as well. i have drained the machine from the waste pipe, and think it might be the pump thats at fault, but not sure. machine still works if only it would drain. could anyone suggest a possible problem? any help would be greatful... thanks

hi i have a hotpoint aquarius WMA56 1300 it washes ok and emptys but it wont spin just keeps whizzing round and not firing into spin cycle any suggestions also checked hose to see if blocked but seems fine belt doesent seem to be going has quick has it should though

put your machine on spin only when it is empty and listen for pump or if it has empty only do that first and if pump goes make sure it is even sounding and if you smell burning it could be your pump but if your machine has spin only and you smell burning it could be your main motor either way I would recommend getting an engineer to look at it for you or get new machine depend on how long you had it. if more than 3/4 yrs go for new machine. please, can't contact me I live in Manchester look for local company and average labour is £40-50 plus any parts which you can find out the retail price-ish online.
