Mend Brother KR850 Purchased Machine

Brother KR850 ribber?

I recently purchased together a secondhand Brother KH950 machine and KR850 ribber. The ribber carriage keeps coming off the connecting arm and also the stitches on the ribber are not knitting. I have found that there is no actual sponge in the ribber sponge bar - would this be the problem?

Hi Josieholly,
The needle retaining bar for this ribber is a plastic one with no foam.
The ribber instruction book explains how to check and adjust the height of the ribber bed - might be worth checking.
Loosen the thumb screws and make sure that the connecting arm is seated properly on the main bed carriage before retightening them.
Check that the ribber carriage is not set for partial knitting.
