How can i fix my media player?

Every time i try to use my media player whether its windows or real player it says that it encounterd a problem and needs to shut down.

I would download a new version of the software. Then go to the control panel , then into add remove programs, uninstall the software that is not working. Go to the new version of the software you downloaded and reinstall the programs.
