Mend Zanussi WDT 1085 Washing Machine Door Handle

Zanussi WDT 1085?

I have a Zanussi WDT 1085 and the door was stuck closed. I have managed to open the door by removing the trim and pushing the catch back. The handle seems as if the spring has gone however I can't see where. I have found a replacment handle but this does not come with spring or catch. Could it be that part of the palstic door handle has broken?

Thank you CK I can't see any evidence of that though. The door handle has lost it's springiness as if the spring was not doing it's job but the spring is in one piece still. Any clues? Nev

its normally the plastic handle that breaks where the plastic should go across the face of the door pin
