How can I open my Zanussi Jetsystek 1250 washing machine?

The handle has broken (hubby pulled it forward too much possibly) and I can't open the door as it is still locked. As it's Bank holiday nobody can be contacted till Tuesday earliest and it has a full load of clothes in it.

Thanks. As he had virtually snapped the handle away from the lock lever my daughter said photograph it so the engineer can see how it was broken. I did and then put a screwdriver threw behind the handleand managed to break the handle bit off and expose the screw. Undid that and the door opened. Whhew. We were very lucky our warranty hadn't run out and on a Bank holiday an engineer arrived and fixed it. We had expected a few weeks to get the engineer and then door lock ordered.

the best way is to get a long piece of string and slip around the door....... pull the string towards the hinge side of the door and it should release the door catch..... take your time as it can be a little tricky.... be patient.
