how do i repair or replace a front strutt on a peugeot 206?

There is a banging noise on the front driver side strutt, how do i repair or replace it

if it is not excess play in the droplink then it could be a broken coil spring or worn top mounts. A droplink is easy to replace, but if it is a spring or top strut mounts then the strut needs to be removed. A spring compressor is required to tension spring before it can be dismantled further.
