Mend Canon MV850i Cassette Mechanism Tape

Can I repair a faulty DV Cassette loading mechanism?

Canon MV850i. I have this camcorder, the tape transport mechanism seems to be faulty. The DVC carriage will not close with a cassette in it, it only closes if it is empty.
