How do I replace a Lutron wall switch that no longer works?

open cover and very closely examine location of all,all wires and colors.write down same then get new sw. and replace with same type switch. 3-way sw. wires must be exact or u will have a mess on ur hands.easyto do if u just make note of color,and position on sw.color of screws w/color of wire.make notes u will remember. diagram if need to.
