2002 focus key fob fix
dead easy fix....
replace better if needed (most times they last 2yrs)
open the black key by using a flat blade very small electricians type screwdriver , take away the key blade.
now open the key fob part,
CHECK that the circuit board (where the 3 buttons) is fixed tightly to the fob , if like mine it had come away in one corner, as i found when pressing a button the circuit board was moving so it was hardly making a connection,,
my simple fix was.....
i gently lifted the gold pins up very slightly...
using a bit of paper and masking tape made a 5mm x 5mm lump and placed it next to where the circuit board was loose - fixed with masking tape ( note * keep away from the contacts) which enabled the fob buttons to connect perfect without moving when pressing .
put key back together
check all secure
result...

not saying this will cure your problem ,,,, but worth a quick look
i had read so many forums saying change battery , unplug green blue wire at samsung unit, reset key,,buy new key etc etc
and it was a 2 minute fix,, all it was - the circuit board had come away slightly in 1 corner ,,,,so when pressed - - it was not making connection unless you practically stamped on the button...
as usual its a cheap key design ,, probably a sneaky ford trick again to get you in and embessle your hard earned cash ...
key tricks for the novice...when outside the vehicle and engine is Off
to close windows outside the car .. hold down lock and wait a few seconds
to open on a 'hot summers day before entering'.... hold open for a few seconds
