Hotpoint wd420?

I have the same machine from new and have the same problem you have described. It is only 28 months old! Engineer says its better I buy another one or spend £180 on the part (something about heating controller). The machine cost £269 from Sainsbury's.
My brother bought the same model as me from Comet and at the same time, but his model only lasted 15months.

Whereas my previous washer dryer machine lasted for 14 years without so much as a hiccup.

sorry 1, 2 & 4 ...
Was advised it was the NTC that was faulty, so bought a new one fitted, and still the same fault.
However I have noticed that now the heater case get extremely hot but there feels like no warmth in the clothes!!
Is it possible the fan has developed a fault and how would i test this?
