HIN001 STEAM GENERATOR IRON is stuck on the auto off mode. ?

I have read the manual and pushed the relevant buttons to stop my iron being stuck on the Auto off mode but it doesn't work. The whole of that area lights up and a beeping sounds emits every 2 seconds. I need to iron - please can you help?
