Mend Ford Escort Engine Wont Turn Over

my engine wont turn over?

i have an escort estate i have changed the starter motor but still it wont turn over could it be the ignition barrel and if so how do i get it out

you need to check that there is a 12v feed going to small wire on starter solenoid when key is turned to start position. have you checked engine earth lead-it bolts on one of top gearbox fixing bolts.make sure it is clamping lead,if a wrong fixing bolt has been fitted it will tighten but not clamp lead!
