Mend GE APE08AJM1 Fault Code Fan

I have a GE model APE08AJM1 Spot (portable) cooler ?

I have a GE model APE08AJM1 Spot (portable) cooler with a E4 fault code on.. The fan works well and when I chane the mode to require cooling the unit shuts off with the E4 fault code on. Im not sure what is wrong can any one help me. Thanks Lance

The error is caused by removing the water tank. It is located on the right side of the unit toward the bottom. in back of this tank is the switch the causes the error. once the tank is removed you can feel for the switch. press the switch if the e4 error goes away then the switch is good otherwise you have a bad switch.
