Mend Veritas 1997 System Set

Veritas alarm system 1997?

When we go to bed & set the alarm system to omit the upstairs only (ie downstairs alarmed but upstairs not alarmed) the alarm system sets ok
When we go out & put the system on full the alarm system will not set & just keeps beeping
Anyone know why?
