Mend HP G6000 Working Running Vista

hp g6000 mouse pad?

My mosepad tap is not working on my HP G6000. I am running Vista Ultimate. Strangely, I have to areas set up, one for me and one for my daughter, and it works fine when she uses her area, but its not working on mine? Anybody any ideas please? Please explain simply, as I'm a nimby with technical stuff!
