I have an Acer 5315 laptop running on Vista. When I insert a CD, DVD or any disk into the laptop I can hear it spinning but nothing appears on the screen as has previously done. How can I get it working. I'm not very technically minded so finding it difficult to resolve.
You can buy a CD/DVD cleaner disk (not expensive) and try cleaning the laser head - hopefully that's all that's wrong. Otherwise you may have to replace the complete drive. Hope it's just a dirty lens.

Thank you for responding, unfortunately I can't see an icon for My computer, would I have one in Windows Vista?

It may just be autorun that isn't working, it happens from time to time.
Can you see the disk/disk contents via 'My Computer'?
