I have the radio code but it wont let me enter it?

my dad being how dads are tried to put the code in and i think he has locked the radio, i now have the code and correct procedure on how to enter it. But the radio has locked i asume from too many incorrect entries any ideas on how i get back to the stage of entering the radio code in. cheers
