Found problem mowerman!?

After investigation I found I left the black wire off the seninole well I put it on wrong and smoke came up through the flywheel I think I burnt the alt. under the flywheel and the armature after hooking up the wire right it would turn good but wont fire I looked at the armature and it looks likes its burnt on one side of it please let me know if I need to replace both of these. Thanks Randy, I know very little about mowers and being unemployed Im trying to save me money.Thanks
