Mend Steam Iron Cleaning

Iron won't produce steam?

The iron heats up but will not produce a burst of steam when you press the steam button. I have cleaned it and I have move the steambutton from left to right without results.

water filler cap has pin hole air hole,this gets blocked causing a vacuum.unblock with fuse wire,steam will flow ,to prove this leave cap open while ironing,no steam drove me mad hope this helps.
