How do you mend a broken fuel pipe?

I have had the same thing happen to me today while the vehicle was being serviced. My mechanic rang the Vauxhall parts supplier and was quoted £80 for the part, we declined and have made a temporary repair using a piece of brake pipe to give the break some strength and then araldited the 2 parts together.
It is holding at the moment but can only be a temporary thing while I try to find a 2nd hand part from a breakers. That's the reason I am on here...lol.
I don't even know what the part is called so that makes it more difficult to find a part.
