Mend Zanussi Drum Drive

How to fix my Zanussi TD100?

The machine is running fine but makes a loud whirring/clicking as the drum rotates. I've disconected the drive and drum rus free and quite - as does the motor and fan. But when they're back together and connected the noise returns. Any suggestions? Mike
