Jimmy was right, I had this problem and used his trick. Worked the second time I pushed the metallic laser reader towards it top. THANKS JIMMY!

remove the DVD - push the 'laser reader' (don't know what it's supposed to be called, but it's the only part that moves, you'll know it when you see it) all the way to the top. I repeated this a couple of times and it seems to be working now. good luck!
